Let the Games Begin

We have Olympic fever at the pool! My boss Kim is obsessed with the Olympics. We were told early that the people at the pool would be celebrating, like it or not! Kim made Olympic rings and I sifted through my things for anything "USA". We ended up decorating the pool with rings, flags, medals, and torches. I even made us T-shirts!

On Friday morning we had our own little "opening ceremony". We played the Olympic Fanfare with Kim and I marching in carrying torches. We each had an escort with a flag marching behind us. Then we met at the other side of the pool, put our torches together, then went and placed them in their holders. The class in the pool was roaring with laughter and cheers. We then came together and shouted, "Let the Games Begin"! I know you must think we are so cheesy. Well, we are! That is what's so funny! We sure had fun and I think that morning will be remembered at the pool for a long time.

BBQ
Well I haven't written much lately but that is mainly due to the fact I haven't done much worth writing about! Ok, there have been a couple things. I had a BBQ last Sunday and it went so well. I invited everyone from work and also a few friends. It was a BBQ/Pot Luck and everyone brought tasty food ( tri-tip, corn, salads, ice cream). We all gathered around one table and chatted, laughed, and caught up with each other. One lifeguard is on duty at any given time so we don't get much chance to talk and hang out with each other. I thought, "why not throw a party?" So I did!

The group I work with is so great and I'm glad so many could come. Now who is throwing the next party, hmmmm?

Back at Home

Well I got home from PA a few days ago and it's back to work! The wedding went well and I got to venture to the other side of the state. It's too bad we didn't get to go do any sightseeing though. Now I'm back home planning a staff BBQ next weekend. I hope it goes well! Not much else to share at the moment..one more month left of summer!
